Atisha Heart Meditation: A Meditation to Transform Fear into Love

This meditation was developed by Atisha, a Buddhist Tantric master from Tibet. It is the quintessence of all Tantric meditations, working with the heart principle, which transforms everything into love. This slow breathing technique is very calming for the nervous system, and relaxes and releases anxiety.

Osho said this about this meditation:“The moment you take all the sufferings of the world inside you, they are no longer sufferings. The heart immediately transforms the energy. The heart is a transforming force: drink in misery, and it is transformed into blissfulness… then pour it out. Once you have learned that your heart can do this magic, this miracle, you would like to do it again and again.” – Osho

Heart Meditation: A Meditation to Connect with the Qualities of the Heart

This meditation, number 16 from the 112 meditations in the ancient Indian scripts of the Vigyana Bhairava Tantra, is a meditation to connect with the qualities of the heart: self-compassion, compassion, empathy and trust.

This technique is recommended by Osho in the Book of Wisdom, where he says, “The heart is the lotus. Every sense is just the opening of the lotus, the petals of the lotus. Try to relate your senses to the heart first. Secondly, always think that every sense goes deep down into the heart and becomes absorbed in it. When these two things become established, only then will your senses begin to help you. They will lead you to the heart, and your heart will become a lotus.

Mindfulness Meditation: A Meditation for Living in the Present Moment

This meditation helps us to experience awareness of our thoughts and feelings without getting carried away by them. It helps us to witness ourselves without labeling our thoughts and feelings as good or bad, right or wrong.

Mindfulness is a mental state where we respond with awareness about what is happening, instead of avoiding our feelings or simply reacting instinctively.

This allows us to experience situations from our essence, instead of from our personality or “learned” reactions. It is a way of experiencing life for what it truly is.

You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather.” – Pema Chödrön

Gratitude Meditation: A Meditation for Self-Appreciation and Living in Gratefulness

“This moment of gratitude is a moment of enlightenment, of mindfulness, of intelligence. It is a manifestation from the depths of your consciousness.” Thich Nhat Hanh

The practice of a gratitude meditation can lead to a greater sense of well-being, improved sleep quality and helps with post-traumatic stress.

Expressing and sharing our gratitude and appreciation for what life has given us is especially important in these times when humanity is facing immense challenges. This meditation practice will give you strength and resilience to cope with the problems you face.

Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.” ― A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
